That feeling...

If you have created anything in your lifetime, you know that feeling. The feeling of starting a new project. That excitement in the pit of your stomach as you set off on the new adventure. For some it's painting, for other's it's photography. For me, it's writing.

Writing allows us to create and explore new worlds. Maybe the protagonist has magic or the society is a matriarchy instead of patriarchy (I wish!) This. This is the reason I write. In the uncertain times of the world, it's a place I can escape.

As I write this, I've finished prepping the second book in The Empires of Terra series. The twists and turns it has taken have left me speechless and excited. Sometimes, the book seems to write itself, while other times, it's like pulling teeth.

My network of writer friends have given me great advice along the way while publishing the first book (with lots of waiting and unexpected paperwork). They were right: writing is the easy part. So on the second way around, I'm going to enjoy this process and ignore the rules of reality (if you've read/ are reading the first book you'll know what I'm talking about).

For now, I'm off to another world...one filled of majik and adventure. Until next time, happy reading!
